As the music industry mourns the death of one of its most influential and chart-topping DJ/Producers, Tim Bergling, A.K.A Avicii (1989-2018), we remember the late artist’s successful journey through a timeline of his musical achievements.

2011 – Levels

Levels, the dance track that launched Tim Bergling into the mainstream. The song contains a vocal sample from Etta James’ gospel-inspired hit, “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” and reached the top ten in 15 countries. It would later be nominated for a Grammy in 2013.

2012- Sunshine

Bergling’s breakout moment- he was nominated for a Grammy under the category for Best Dance Recording for his collaboration track “Sunshine” with David Guetta.

2013- Wake Me Up

“Wake Me Up” was the first single off Berglings’ “True” album. It was number 1 on Spotify Global Chart and Avicii was the second most streamed artist worldwide. The track was an international hit, went platinum six times and managed to set a record of 14 weeks as the number one hit on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs list.

2014- A Sky Full of Stars

Bergling co-wrote and co-produced the track “A Sky Full of Stars” with Chris Martin from Coldplay. He also played and recorded the piano parts on the track.

2015- Stories

Bergling released the album, Stories in March 2015. That same year he worked on numerous collaborations with major artists, including Jon Bon Jovi, Serj Tankian, Chris Martic, Wyclef Jean, Zac Brown Band, Matisyahu and others.

2016- Taste the Feeling

In 2016, Coca-Cola partnered with Bergling for a global campaign anthem, “Taste the Feeling”. That same year, Bergling announced on Facebook that he would be retiring from live performing and touring.

2017-  Avīci (01)

In August 2017, Bergling released a six-track EP, Avīci (01). It was the first part of the three-part release plan that was eventually supposed to merge into an album. Days before his death, the EP was nominated for a Billboard Music Award, and is thought to be some of his finest work.
