With over a million monthly downloads and hundreds of thousands of daily learners, we're building the AI creative companion for every home.   We're looking for a Head of R&D, Piano to join us at Simply and help scale our teams, technologies, and processes to the next stage of growth. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building and scaling a high-performing engineering team, ensuring alignment between technology and business goals, and fostering a strong development culture. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership, people management, and organizational influence – all within a fast-paced, high-impact environment. <h4>What You’ll Be Doing</h4> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams, driving execution, delivery, and growth.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner closely with product, design, data, and business stakeholders to shape roadmap and priorities.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Bridge product vision and engineering execution, making strategy actionable.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Own key architectural and technical choices that enable scale and continuous product evolution.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and boost team velocity through org and workflow changes.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Coach and mentor engineers, fostering growth, ownership, and impact.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Uphold high standards of code quality, collaboration, and engineering culture.</li> </ul> <h4>Who you are and what you’ve done</h4> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proven experience leading and scaling teams, preferably in high-growth environments</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong hands-on technical background in software engineering and system architecture </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Entrepreneurial experience, including founding or leading ventures</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent understanding of modern development methodologies </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Love for problem-solving and shaping team culture</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong sense of ownership and a drive to get things done</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to balance long-term thinking with immediate delivery needs</li> </ul>
